Sulfamic acid, also referred to as amidosulfonic acid, is a white to colourless solid. The substance has no odour and is soluble in water. In water, it slowly hydrolyses to ammonium hydrogen sulphate. Sulfamic acid can be prepared by the reaction of urea with pyro-sulphuric acid.
